The VP of Ambulatory Services manages clinical and administrative services of Maine Behavioral Healthcare (MBH) Ambulatory Services, including Mental Health and Substance Use, and provides leadership, oversight, support and direction in planning, guiding and coordinating all operations, including to providers in collaboration with the VP Medical Affairs of Ambulatory Services. The Vice President plays a key role in strategic planning and collaborates with clinical and administrative leadership at all levels in the assessment, planning and implementation of programs and services that support the successful operation of all ambulatory services. Reporting to and at the direction of the MBH President, provides leadership for the development of new services to support MBH and MaineHealth (MH). The Vice President serves as a critical liaison between Ambulatory Services and other MBH services and other MH organizations supported by MBH, ensuring open communication and facilitating collaboration. The VP is responsible for strategic leadership and oversight to achieve excellence in client care, compliance with regulatory agencies, fiscal responsibility, and human resources management. Collaborates with designated leaders to ensure performance excellence and quality improvement efforts for productivity, service, consumer satisfaction and clinical performance of designated programs. This position will ensure alignment with the MBH and MH strategic plans, participate in the development of the strategic plan and launching new strategic initiatives.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Master’s degree in social work or an equivalent graduate professional degree required.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive mental health and substance use program management and broad based clinical experience in ambulatory services required.
Understanding of skills with commitment to continuously improve practice workflow and operations
Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretions and decision making.
