Leading Internet / Online Media Company is seeking an innovative, dynamic VP & General Manager, Weddings to be responsible for leading Leading Internet / Online Media Company’s large and highly successful Weddings business, driving significant long-term growth and continuing to utilize Leading Internet / Online Media Company’s advantage in crowdsourcing the freshest, most unique design to create innovative and delightful products and services and take market share in the $53B weddings market. You will be responsible for driving significant revenue growth in our weddings business and growing distribution across our wholesale, physical retail, and direct to consumer channels. This role offers a creative, strategic and dynamic business leader the opportunity to lead and collaborate cross-functionally across all areas of Leading Internet / Online Media Company’s business, from high-level strategy to detailed operational execution.
As VP & General Manager, Weddings, you will develop our physical product and shopping experience roadmaps both online and offline. You’ll develop data-driven go-to-market strategies that hit our sales targets. You will be a business partner to our product management and engineering teams in building the best and stickiest online customer experiences, as well as to our Brand and Operations teams in building physical retail experiences and competitive advantage through products and supply chain. You will bring a scaling and operational mindset to this business, ensuring that cross-functional teams can act with speed, while also solidifying and scaling key business processes that are critical to growing the business profitably. You will work in a highly dynamic yet interdependent environment and should enjoy influencing others cross-functionally as well as rolling up your sleeves to deliver results.
The VP & General Manager, Weddings owns strategy and consumer insights for the category, makes product and pricing decisions for the category across all channels,and drives long-term sales growth by matrixing across functional areas. The VP owns the overall budget and P&L for the category.
The VP & General Manager, Weddings will report to Founder & CEO, Mariam Naficy.S/he collaborates closely with and has dotted-line management of category-dedicated resources in critical functional areas, such as the category Product Manager, and category Marketing head.
Serve as a key operational member of the company’s leadership team, heavily influencing the direction and development of Leading Internet / Online Media Company’s long-term strategic plan.
Own annual strategy for category.
Own customer experience definition, including customer service options.
Own consumer insights, market research.
Own marketing strategy for the category.
Own physical product roadmap, pricing and margins; manage launches across org.
Own assortment development, in collaboration with leader of Merchandising Design. Drive promotional and product marketing calendar for the category in collaboration with Brand Marketing.
Measure, manage product quality and customer satisfaction with product.
Ensure annual acquisition and retention plans formed w/ dedicated category budget.
Drive all operational changes and coordination across org when needed for category.

10+ years of increasing consumer packaged goods or e-commerce leadership experience.You have had responsibility for managing a consumer business in either consumer packaged goods or e-commerce that generated at least $200 million in annual revenues.
Proven product development experience. You have made product development decisions in the past, preferably in consumer products (design brand manager) or retail (merchant or GM), which have involved identifying an idea, forming the product attributes in partnership with other functions, and launching the product to market.You are attuned to cultural shifts & emerging trends, can balance a strong eye for design with an instinct for commercial viability and incorporate data to develop new products and design assortments that drive sales. You’ve had experience identifying consumer personas in a market and developing product and marketing strategies around those.
Marketing and business development experience.You have a strong command of direct-to-consumer acquisition, retention, and lifecycle marketing, and experience utilizing these marketing approaches to drive revenue growth.You’ve successfully increased market share and brand awareness for a consumer business. You’ve creatively defined business partnerships to build strategic advantage and growth for a consumer business.
Data-driven decision maker with a deep comfort with quantitative analysis.
Strong analytical skills and ability to improve ROI.
Adept at quickly interpreting and communicating relevant data to drive business decisions.
Strong track record of building, managing and mentoring high performance teams. You have a high bar for talent and will continuously raise the bar at Leading Internet / Online Media Company.
Exceptional presentation and communication skills with a strong ability to influence others across the organization, particularly in the functional areas that support you.
MBA strongly preferred.
Management consulting experience a plus.
Strong eye for design and understanding of creative communities. Exceptional taste in design or a creative hobby is a plus.
