The Vice President of Business Development works directly with Alignment Healthcare senior leadership to develop new business strategies and partners and payer relationships for the Company. Will manage the financial analytics that support prospective agreements with hospitals, provider groups and payer partnerships for the Company. Additionally, this leader will assist in developing a comprehensive primary care and specialist affiliation strategy, which may include both acquisition, Joint Venture (JV) and partnership models.

This position manages all aspects of Alignment’s business development policies, objectives, and initiatives. Responsible for developing new market initiatives, assessing new markets, and analyzing business opportunities. Conducts financial feasibility studies and develops proposals for new business opportunities. May also be accountable for licensing initiatives and programs; duties include supporting negotiating contracts, proposals, andcreating new economic models.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Reports to the SVP of Business Development.

General Duties/Responsibilities:

Strong strategic thinker with proven financial modeling, decision support, and tactical execution capabilities.

Experience in Healthcare Mergers and Acquisitions, as well as operational experience in the provider clinic space.

Ability to address the complex interrelationships among factors that influence the solutions to business issues in order to articulate key business strategies.

Knowledge of healthcare industry.

Demonstrates strong critical thinking and expresses ideas clearly, concisely and logically.

Ability to make balanced and insightful decisions.

Quick thinker and learner.

Ability to multi-task and work on several complex projects simultaneously.

Strong organizational skills; attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.

Experience in coordinating the development of end to end business solutions.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Experience:

Seven+ (7) years’ experience in Health Care Business Development, Health Care Management, and/or Managed Care.


Master's degree in Hospital Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent education and experience, preferred.
