The position of the Business Relationship Manager is a results oriented role that requires strong performance in deposit growth and deposit related services. The Business Relationship Manager is responsible for building and retaining key customer relationships. This individual is expected to identify new account and deposit growth opportunities internally and externally. This position requires a collaborative engagement with branch personnel, Commercial Mortgage and other areas within the bank such as the Investment Program.The Business Relationship Manager will build and manage a portfolio of Bank customers.This position reports to the First Vice President, District Manager of the Lower Manhattan region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging individual network. Develop and maintain a network of prospective client referral sources through community and business development activities.
Capitalize on growth opportunities by identifying the needs of prospective customers and providing appropriate financial solutions at Apple bank.
Cold call as appropriate within market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities.
Arrange and participate in internal and external events to establish rapport with communities. Participate in community events to build personal brand and enhance the Bank's visibility.
Collaborate with branches and department heads as needed.
Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products and pricing.
Obtain sales leads by prospecting, networking and leveraging existing Bank relationships by partnering with other areas within the bank such as the Commercial Mortgage Department.
Skills, Education and Experience:
A bachelor's degree or comparable professional training and 5-10 years of banking/finance experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Sales or deposit gathering background is preferred.
Ability to multi-task.
Excellent time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
Proficient in MS Word and Excel
