Compliance Officer (CO) will have the responsibilities of a utility person who will assist with the ongoing regulatory reviews of Bank-originated loans, purchased loans and loan pools that include possible CRA qualified loans. CO will have a variety of tasks related to the department’s responsibility to ensure that Bancorp and its subsidiary bank achieve optimum compliance with lending, deposit and CRA regulations in addition to other applicable laws and regulations as well as Bank policy. CO will report to the SVP Compliance Manager. Compliance Officer CO) will assist with the ongoing monitoring of policies and procedures as well as the maintenance of compliance and CRA documentation. CO will also complete other miscellaneous duties as required. Requires exceptional judgment and ability to prioritize and handle matters independently and provides assistance for projects that may be complex and often involve confidential issues. Technological proficiency is important to effective performance of the job.
Ensure that the Company’s Compliance Program is effectively communicated to all appropriate staff, monitor adherence to the established program and other applicable banking laws and regulations that affect lending compliance.
Coordinate with SVP Compliance and members of management to ensure that compliance policies and procedures are kept current.
Prepare various reports for SVP Compliance and Compliance Committee meetings.
Interface with regulators, auditors and SVP Compliance to achieve satisfactory ratings in all regulatory categories.
Recommend to SVP Compliance any changes to the Company’s compliance program and improvements to assist others with administrative or secretarial work on an overflow basis.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Must have at least 6 years of broad and significant experience with CRA, Lending and Operational laws and regulations.
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with all members of the organization
Ability to multi-task several projects at once
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proven ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint)
Creative and strategic thinker capable of analyzing information/processes to determine overall trends and make appropriate conclusions
