The Vice President, Corporate Counsel will be an integral part of Anastasia Beverly Hills, LLC and its legal affairs. This role primarily involves drafting and negotiating agreements related to business contracts, licensing, marketing, and sales.  


Key Responsibilities:


Primary responsibilities are to negotiate and draft contracts.


That includes drafting and negotiating multi-component deals for marketing and distribution agreements, content acquisitions, talent deals, international distribution and rights agreements.


Tracking business affairs, deal terms, rights clearances, status charts and other duties related to rights management.


Providing strategic advice to the leadership team on important business transactions.


Working collaboratively with support staff and other members of the team to achieve department objectives.


Handling general matters including governance and maintenance of corporate entities, organizational structures, regulatory filings and supporting the board members.


Establishing strong working relationships across functional groups including, but not limited to, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Development and Digital Distribution.


What this position does not involve:


Building an in-house legal department.


Supervising several outside lawyers.


Supervising labor issues or related matters. 


Supervising litigation.


Supervising IP matters.


Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree and law degree.


Active California Bar membership.


Minimum 4 years’ experience with a law department with at least 5 full-time lawyers or at a law firm with at least 100 lawyers.


Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.


Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with a demonstrated track record of sound business judgment.


Superior negotiation skills, with a high level of attention to detail.


Results oriented, extremely proactive and highly responsive.


Experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts.


Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to adapt and provide effective service to all levels of the company.
