The role will use a data driven approach, creativity and experience to design and develop integrated strategies that support a culture where all associates can do their best work and practices that grow diverse talent in our leadership pipeline.
The VP of Diversity and Inclusion will define future programs to ensure we are driving and evolving our culture with a lens for how we continue to attract and retain talent with diverse perspectives and experiences.
Leverages a small direct report team based in Dublin, California that partners with a broader team business leaders, Human Resources and key associates to assess and implement solutions aligned to company business objectives.
Leads Company diversity and inclusion strategy by ensuring diversity agendas are successfully implemented and in line with businesses objectives.
Provides thought leadership and partners in the development of policies and programs to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce for the organization such as building out different recruiting channels, refining employer branding messaging, launching development programs, implementing associate resource groups, and analyzing data to measure and monitor the results.
Develops metrics for measuring the effectiveness of corporate diversity initiatives implemented and prepares quarterly reports to senior management on the value of the initiatives.
Develops company-wide awareness of diversity and inclusion, creates and drives a diversity and inclusion communication strategy that will keep associates and business informed about, supportive of and engaged in sponsoring and integrating diversity programs and initiatives into how they work
Leads the development of Diversity and Inclusion communications on behalf of the CEO and other senior leaders.
Partners closely with corporate communications, marketing, investor relations, corporate social responsibility, store communications and HR to ensure engagement, diversity, and inclusion priorities are reflected in company branding and internal/external messaging.
Keeps current on external diversity programs and developments by developing relationships and maintaining contact with others in the field (e.g., professional association and educational groups, and professional development efforts) with the intention of working together to improve the company brand.
Works collaboratively with HR leadership and the business to develop integrated strategies for talent management of a diverse leadership pipeline with a focus on employee development, succession planning, engagement, retention, and advancement.
Works with business leaders to provide insights, resources, tools, and actions that increase the organization’s focus on driving action in promoting diversity and inclusion.
Works with leaders to cultivate a culture that is inclusive and innovative and actively embraces multiple dimensions of diversity
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Communications, Business Administration or related field; Advanced degree preferred
15 or more years of relevant experience, including prior experience with initiating Diversity and Inclusion at the enterprise level and managing Diversity and Inclusion in a large organization
Results driven leader with proven ability to help organizations develop business focused solutions addressing key needs in the areas of human resources and diversity and inclusion
Proven track record of facilitating enterprise-level initiatives with multiple senior stakeholders (Executive Leadership Team, Leadership Committees and other business leaders)
Ability to develop quick turn-around, practical recommendations based on data and best in class research to inform strategic decisions in a fast-moving environment.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to convey information and ideas through high-quality verbal and written communication to individuals or groups at all levels of the organization
Strong collaborator and influencer – ability to extend reach beyond their immediate scope to influence and lead change initiatives with multiple senior stakeholders
Experience in planning and managing events
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective relationships with peers and leaders across an organization and the ability to build personal credibility and trust
Ability to manage sensitive situations discreetly
Strategic mindset with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously; ability to manage projects with varying deadlines
Strong judgment with high level of comfort using data-driven decision making; Skilled at translating data and analytics to develop insights, tell stories, drive decisions and measure impact
Strong leader of people with ability to effectively manage through influence and adjust leadership approach as needed
Must demonstrate flexibility and be able to act quickly and confidently
Skilled in translating external and internal trends into innovative and creative internal practices that add value
Ability to balance data driven insights with employee experience advocacy to identify the most effective solutions for Ross – can be both analytical and empathetic at the same time.
