Discovery’s rapidly growing Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business is looking for a dynamic, high-energy leader, with a track record of executing strategic media partnerships. As VP, DTC Partner Management, you will lead a team responsible for the effective implementation and ongoing management of DTC partnerships. This leader, a critical member of the Content and Commercial team, will report to the Group SVP Content & Commercial Strategy. The right person for this role is a self-starter and creative problem solver, with tact in managing partner relationships and proven experience leveraging partner relationships to drive subscribers. They get excited by improving processes, working cross-functionally, and managing through influence. This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of the highest priority new business initiative of Discovery, and the leader of this team will contribute significantly to Discovery’s DTC subscriber growth, with high visibility to senior leadership.


1. Leverage partnerships to maximize subscriber growth and ensure partner is meeting agreed-upon targets

Work with marketing team to define partner KPIs and brainstorm and implement initiatives to achieve those

Align product roadmap efforts between partner and Discovery tech teams

Maintain detailed technical understanding of the end-to-end customer journey, constantly seeking to simplify and improve the customer experience

Leverage Discovery’s content as a means of identifying and executing targeted promotions with partners, both to help drive subscribers and amplify our content offering

Collaborate with the Data Science and Reporting teams to develop specs for reports and dashboards to monitor performance and leverage this data to continuously improve partnerships

2. Build a partner management community across Discovery’s various regions, DTC products, and partner segments (devices, telcos, MVPDs, etc.)

Establish relationships with regional partnerships leads to gather and share best practices

Lead cross-company partnerships community that consolidates and coordinates all internal partner management efforts in an effort to align best practices, share learnings, and optimize partner relationships

Implement a robust project management function and partner implementation framework for onboarding new partners, including establishing an efficient process across marketing / PR, technical, and customer service workflows

3. Manage ongoing partner relationships across multiple partner segments in conjunction with the relevant DTC and affiliate deal teams

Serve as a centralized point of contact for all issues, questions, and priorities coming in from the partner

Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure resolution


• At least 10 years of partner marketing, partner management, and/or partner implementation experience in a digital direct-to-consumer business

• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and to handle multiple simultaneous projects in a well-organized manner

• Ability to leverage data to drive analysis and improvements across partner relationships

• Determined, positive attitude that will rub off on your colleagues and business prospects

• Superior relationship-building skills and stellar track record of implementing new partnerships/deals with multiple stakeholders

• Familiarity with and ability to influence product and marketing roadmap and prioritization processes

• Ability to look ahead and balance strategic projects and initiatives with tactical day-to-day cadence

• Comfortable in ambiguity and effective operating in a lean, matrixed organization

• Highly collaborative and ability to demonstrate diplomacy, tact, and integrity – ability to inspire, motivate, and lead cross-functional teams to achieve goals

• Proven track record of implementing complex strategic partnerships operating under minimal supervision

• Experience collaborating effectively across both domestic and global organizations
