We seek a strategic leader who will be charged with developing communications strategy the Estee Lauder portfolio of brands. 

This role will identify consumer insights and cultivate them to form the basis for strategic planning.By focusing on why people think, feel and act the way that they do, the VP Partner will help create communication strategies and ideas that influence perceptions and encourage engagement with each brand under their purview. 

Moreover, this individual will be the strategic leader working in close partnership with each brand’s core team members from Integrated Planning, Social, Programmatic and Analytics to deliver fully integrated communications solutions.

The person best suited for this role will be a beauty maven, deeply imbedded, in the category who is a multi-tasker who has a positive and energetic view on life and a passion for getting under the skin of audiences.

Responsibilities

Identifying Insights

Maintain understanding of each brand’s business, target audiences and category

Listen for, identify, and articulate compelling insights within consumer, brand, category, competition, culture and media

Lead development of UM’s proprietary Consumer Archetype process for core HVAs (high value audiences) including workshop preparation, facilitation and synthesis of findings

Propose, execute and report primary research, as needed, and analyze secondary research as appropriate

Understand, embrace, and integrate client and outside agency (search, influencer, and PR) research into plans

Strategy and Idea Development

Lead the ELC strategic planning approach on their businesses

Companyft communication overviews that distill strategy for each brand using an omnimedia sensibility

Including insights, audience goals, barriers, drivers, comms tasks, and roles of channels

Identify/prioritize both persuasion and precision moments to anchor plan development

Design expression and execution of the idea in collaboration with the integrated planning team, investment, programmatic and social teams along with media partners and our internal studio team, where applicable

Design expression and execution of the idea in collaboration with Studio, planning team, investment, and media partners

Assist in both Companyfting RFPs that reflect created ideas, and evaluating/shaping partner submissions

Partner with planning and investment teams to effectively pull-through strategy into plan’s ideas and tactics

Storytelling

Package insights, strategy, and activation ideas for simplicity and clarity

Assist in Companyfting compelling selling approaches

Consult on development of support materials

Collaboration

Develop effective and inspiring working relationships within agency team

Create a meaningful relationship with senior Estee Lauder clients

Collaborate with media teams to ensure strategy is worked into tactical recommendations and (when possible) measured in post campaign reports

Drive thought leadership within the team

Leadership

Develop case studies and award submissions

Responsible for training the Elevate strategy team in the artform of strategy development

Skills

Proven experience with activating paid media in strategic and creative ways

Passionate about beauty category

Experience with Multi Cultural audiences and brands

Comfort level with high volume and velocity of work

Enthusiastic consumer of, and curiosity about, pop culture and the ever-changing media landscape

Consumer-first mentality

Independent, efficient and prospers in fast paced environment

Excellent strategic thinking, with ability to simplify the complex and focus on those essentials that matters most

Persuasive with outstanding written and oral communication skills

Outstanding client relationship skills, including experience interacting and presenting to senior-level clients

Experience working across multiple agencies and disciplines to achieve holistic communications planning

Comfortable with pulling, analyzing and applying data to support their recommendations

Fully conversant with all major desktop research tools and qualitative research techniques

Experience and comfort facilitating ideation sessions
