• Oversee all claim analysis and handling to ensure appropriate and timely adjustment of claims within granted authorities


• Ensure related financial records are accurate and internal controls are adhered to throughout the process


• Develop, and present to management, strategies for resolution of disputed claims through dispute management process


• Oversee lawyers when claims are submitted to formal dispute


• Identify company and market issues and trends


• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports


• Assess protocols and processes for efficiency and improvement


• Liaise with ceded team members to enact credit control


• Liaise with actuarial and finance as appropriate to assess commutation opportunities and to track assumed incurred development 


• Oversee audit protocol of ceding companies


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS


• 4 year college degree and 10 years’ experience with reinsurance claims-handling


• Experience interpreting and analyzing the application of reinsurance treaties and certificates


• Experience managing people


• Strong analytical skills


• Strong in factual and persuasive writing


• Strong inter-personal skills


• Experience in negotiating disputed claims to final resolution


• Some understanding of reinsurance accounting
