Anywhere is seeking a Corporate Development leader with a desire to make an impact through outstanding strategic thinking, investment and transaction experience, and excellent skills developing and expanding relationships in a diverse ecosystem.We are redefining the residential real estate market, driving a digital transformation of buying and selling homes. We do this from a position of strength with the largest agent network in the US, an advantaged position in luxury, and key assets in title and escrow, mortgage and insurance. To accelerate our journey towards simple, safe, and frictionless experiences for consumers, agents, and brokers, we are adding to our senior team a corporate development leader who can drive the execution of a buy-build-partner approach developed in collaboration with our Product and Technology teams.Additionally, recognizing the key role partnership plays in delivering a complete and compelling value proposition to consumers, agents, and brokers, we are looking for a leader with the versatility to lead a business development function that manages strategic partnerships.Finally, this role will manage our Limited Partner interests in the Proptech venture capital funds.



The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will develop deep relationships within our broad ecosystem including technology and service companies, the venture capital community, industry groups, and other organizations that are key for advancing our mission of discovering and delivering compelling added value to consumers, agents, and brokers. You bring technical experience with buying and investing in companies, a strategic perspective, expertise in business development, and the ability to clarify and summarize complex issues effectively. You also possess distinctive analytical skills regarding technical and financial issues and the ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of the organization.Collaboration with a broad range of internal partners, including Product, Technology, Finance, and Legal and a diverse range of external partners is key.



Responsibilities



  • Support Anywhere’s growth strategy through identification, assessment and execution of potential mergers, acquisitions, investments and strategic partnerships

  • Investigate industry trends and opportunities for growth within Anywhere’s existing businesses and expansion into new areas; synthesize information and form a persuasive point of view grounded in data, which can be articulated to a variety of stakeholders, including executive management

  • Partner with senior business leaders on strategy development and realization, and identify corporate development opportunities in a progressive, systematic, fashion

  • Develop relationships with a broad set of candidates for satisfying our buy and partner priorities and facilitate progressive commercial engagement in a portfolio of attractive candidates

  • Lead transaction related activities and manage the transaction process for investments and acquisitions of technical and service companies to expand our capabilities and product offering

  • In partnership with the VP of Platform Products, develop an approach for accelerating broad based engagement in our Open Ecosystem

  • Create a strategic plan to prospect new strategic partnerships, assess and restructure as needed existing partnership agreements and optimize integration opportunities in collaboration with key decision makers across Anywhere

  • Assess different revenue models with external partners incorporating financial performance impact, innovation, and the value to brokers and agents, and manage the Strategic Partnerships P&L, including direct and pass-through ancillary revenues for Anywhere and our affiliates, and participate with Finance in budget related efforts

  • Develop and lead a team of Corporate Development and Partnership individuals 

  • Identify and build strong relationships across Anywhere to maximize the breadth of network opportunities and the impact for our partners of engagement with Anywhere


Leadership & Experience



  • 10+ years of relevant work experience including multiple completed buy-side M&A transactions and equity investments, preferably with a corporate/strategic lens​

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or relevant graduate degree or similar professional experience preferred​

  • Experience with venture capital investing and commercial / venture co-investment​

  • Proven track record of developing a corporate development strategy and executing through investments and acquisitions; direct experience in M&A identification, negotiations, execution, and integration​

  • Proven success forming strategic partnerships, structuring commercial deals and growing commercial engagement over time​

  • Strong financial management, analysis, and reporting skills centered around KPIs​

  • Excellent presentation skills and executive presence, including strong oral and writing capabilities; ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior leaders and external business partners​

  • Understanding of real estate brokerage highly desired but not required
