The , Medical Staff Development is responsible for the development and operation of full-service medical staff development/provider recruiting, onboarding, and payer enrollment functions to support the company’s growth initiatives, leading the teams responsible for these activities, and implementing and maintaining the infrastructure needed to support the company’s markets in these efforts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned. 

Participates in planning with regional and market operations to determine priorities for recruitment, onboarding, and retention of new providers.

Develops strong relationships with regional and market operations leaders.

Oversees the entire provider recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, advising markets on site visits, interviewing, compensation, employment offers, etc.

Serves as the lead recruiter (Regional ) for a small number of hospitals

Collaborates with the legal department and Physician Practice Services to develop an effective contracting process, compliant employment agreements and other legal arrangements involving providers; works with operations and legal to ensure that financial support and contractual arrangements are market competitive and meet all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Collaborates closely with PPSI (Physician Practice Support, Inc.) and Managed Care departments to significantly advance Delegated Credentialing initiatives.

Oversees the company’s program for onboarding new employed providers, ensuring a smooth transition from recruitment to practice management; leads payer enrollment team as a function of provider onboarding.

Utilizes cost effective recruitment and onboarding tactics; serves as leadership liaison to certain vendors supporting medical staff development, onboarding, and payer enrollment.

Advises market operations on the development and implementation of successful provider retention strategies.

Coordinates and monitors overall productivity of the medical staff development, onboarding, and payer enrollment teams.

Establishes and maintains operational budgets for departments.

Ten plus years’ experience in physician recruitment, physician practice operations, provider enrollment or other relevant healthcare experience
