Medecision is looking for a Vice President – Model Development, a passionate power contributor who blends solid expert knowledge of data science and advanced statistical and analytics methods with proven experience designing, developing and deploying risk and predictive models to address the population health business challenges.

You, as the Vice President – Model Development, will bring subject matter expertise to bridge data science, analytics and models to impact business challenges in the evolving Population Health Management industry. You will be responsible for existing models, ensure effective integration of client developed models and analytics and oversee partners, internally and vendors, who will contribute to the development of new data models. You will serve in a strong influential capacity to our Product Managers to help define the market landscape through predictive models and identify new product innovations related to the transformation of the value of patient care through the use of data science. You will act as a pioneer to lead our advanced analytic solutions forward in the healthcare industry.

YOU’RE GOOD AT:
Understanding the healthcare data landscape to lead strategic direction on the data science vision.
Collaborating with third party partners and internal team members for the development and application of advanced analytics, risk and predictive models to drive key business success, specifically client performance and Medecision’s revenue growth.
Working with team members and associates in a matrix organization structure to define, develop, refine and scale data management and analytics procedures, systems, workflows, best practices and other issues.
Being a hands-on -- not just theoretical expert – practitioner, with well developed, effective communication skills to a business audience, capable of conveying the business benefits and value of advanced analytic methods and capabilities, for example, machine learning, data mining, and statistical modeling.
Being accountable for developing policies and procedures governing data usage and security policies, data quality management, data analytics, and advanced data science.
Master or PhD degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Machine Learning, or related quantitative field required
12+ years of hands on experience with data analytics, including multivariate database management, advanced statistical methods, and scaling data management operations and infrastructure with first-hand knowledge of the distributed computing platforms.
Expertise in the healthcare, population health management industries is strongly preferred.
Experience with claims, EMR, related health information systems, socio-demographic data required; IoT data experience, preferred.
Extensive experience solving healthcare analytical problems using quantitative approaches.
Comfort manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.
Statistical modeling experience and technical, data engineering skills.
A strong passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data, often collaborating in a matrixed, virtual team culture with coworkers, consultants, and clients.
A flexible analytic approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision.
Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner.
Expert knowledge of an analysis tool such as R, Matlab, or SAS.
Experience working with large data sets, and experience dealing with very granular data; working knowledge with distributed computing tools a plus (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc.)
