We are seeking an individual to lead our Pandora programming team, managing curators in music, comedy, and podcasts, and interfacing heavily with our product development organization on content initiatives. This VP will lead our team of genre experts, set strategy in coordination with SiriusXM, work cross-functionally to make sure our content plans line up with our product and marketing initiatives, and is ultimately responsible for Pandora’s content and programming direction and priorities to drive listeners and listening hours on the service. The ideal candidate is a proven leader of teams that brings experience with both digital and broadcast programming alongside a deep background of working with product and engineering organizations. This person can be located in New York or Los Angeles. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Grow listeners and listening hours on Pandora through content and programming (stations, playlists, podcasts, etc).

Manage a team of 14 genre experts across all categories.

Set goals, measure progress, and use data to inform programming decisions and effectiveness.

Partner effectively with the product development organization to define and build the tools and features needed to achieve strategic business objectives. 

Represent and advocate for programs and initiatives that seek to grow our presence and leadership in the music industry and specifically with the artists, managers, and labels that drive the music business.

Partner effectively with Marketing, Sales, Communications, Industry Relations, Licensing, and Product for initiatives that will benefit all of Pandora and SiriusXM.

Understand the relationship between human curation and algorithmically-driven computational programming.

Work with genre leads and content executives to develop innovative content and programming ideas to drive time spent listening. 

Contribute to competitive analysis and strategic recommendations.

Coordinate and partner effectively with all other teams at SiriusXM and Pandora - specifically with the SiriusXM programmers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage a team of 14 genre experts across all categories.

Minimum Qualifications:

10+ years relevant experience

Requirements and General Skills:

Demonstrated track record of leadership and success in content and programming.

Ability to define, develop and utilize data-driven metrics and qualitative information.

Great public speaking and presentation skills to audiences of all types

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

BA or BS in relevant area preferred.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Technical Skills:


Familiar with collaboration tools such as Slack and Zoom
