As our new VP -Networking Products and reporting to our CIO, you will be accountable for the leadership, vision, ownership and direction of GE’s Networking products and operations as it relates to our more than 4,000 sites and data centers. This includes all facets of networking including wide area networks (WAN), local area networks (LAN), wireless connectivity, and our factory floor IoT connectivity, and our software defined networks globally across all GE businesses. This is an opportunity to partner closely with and influence across the GE Businesses and IT Leadership to transform traditional networking in a global Fortune 10 company and to position internal products to be commercially viable for sell to non-GE entities.
In addition, as our new VP – Network Products you will:
Own, deliver, and operate the networking strategies for all networking products globally for GE and all external businesses with established commercial relationships.
Own the Networking Product P&L with responsibility for its operations, costs, revenue, and margin in partnership with enabling functions.
Seeks and establishes innovative ways for generating business growth. Finds new funding models to support the growth.
Establishes vision & strategy for the business segment. Anticipate and shape investment decisions based on market opportunities, market trend, risks, competitive landscape and strategic partnerships.
Own the development and commercialization of networking intellectual property for the purposes of generating external business while maintaining/growing existing business lines.
Drive the transformation from a project and shared services organization to a product based DevOps P&L organization that owns its destiny wing-to-wing.
Drive customer obsession and their satisfaction through capturing their voice, developing products they want and need, and measuring their sentiment.
Drive operational excellence of all of your products through commercial agreements with service levels that measured and agreed upon.
Work cross functionally across sales, internal/external customers, analysts, marketing, engineering and senior management teams to formulate and execute the strategy. Partner with leaders in IT Risk to implement future technology requirements and controls as it relates to delivering connectivity for key products, while minimizing risk and meeting business goals.
Understand the market and current Network and telecommunication technology trends and identify strategic business and commercial implications.
Develop a thorough understanding of GE infrastructure requirements with the experience and acumen to accelerate portfolio advancements, convergence and delivery.
Develop and guide a technical community across the Digital Technology organization that fosters innovation, agile design and test methodology, flexible teaming, knowledge sharing and talent transformation.
Provide leadership, inspiration, and guidance to an organization to support a culture of transparency, collaboration and creativity.

Major personal performance objectives for this role in the first 12 months are:
Build a product focused team that has a balance of relationship management and highly technical competencies to solve challenging business problems with business partners and customers.
Define products, product roadmaps, and reference architecture for all networking product lines.
Complete the transformation of our 4000+ site to a software defined network to enhance the end user experience.
Modernize our DCLAN offerings in collaboration with our internal hosting strategies.
Implement a DC and Core strategy that will enable acquisition of new business securely while protecting existing and divesting entities.
Bachelor’s Degree is required, with a STEM major preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience and demonstrated success in software engineering, enterprise architecture and/or information technology across multiple products, systems and/or platforms.
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading multi-discipline technical teams, preferably with international reach across multiple service types.
Minimum of 8 years of product management experience and knowledge of product management methodologies.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in technical & customer facing roles with proven track record
Minimum of 4 years of experience in web-based applications, middle-tier services, database, storage, distributed computing, virtualization and/or application technology migrations, coupled with experience driving and executing cloud and digital technology strategies.

Ability and willingness to travel 20-30% of the time.
A passionate technology evangelist who has had success leading network designs and implementations across major technology partners along with whitebox/open source solutions.
Hands-on experience in multigeneration technology planning, convergence and rationalization.
Ability to identify new approaches to complex design problems.
Evangelizes modern technologies to internal product teams, stakeholders and GE executives.
Knowledge of networking including routing and switching, LAN/DCLAN, wireless and network security
Experience in delivering industrial platforms or horizontal software middleware. Envisions technology landscape scalability best practices and translates them torequirements, architecture and tooling.
Ability to influence nontechnical aspects of technology change (e.g. business and operational architectures).
Track record of evangelizing impact of pricing strategy and business model innovation on business transformation
Proven ability to make strategic partnering decisions for the product line including the creation of new inbound/outbound channels
Expertise in monitoring and shaping industry dynamics, trends, and policies and to shape a culture that proactively uses market intelligence to drive significant growth
Adept performing as a trusted advisor who consistently marshals the best company resources across business functions, including at the executive level, on behalf of the customer
