As Vice President of New Business Acquisition for KAR Global, you will lead a team of Inside and Outside Business Development Representatives in the acquisition of Buy-side dealer clients for our digital platform. You will also help to create and execute on market growth strategies for industry-disrupting technology solutions designed to change the way dealers buy and sell wholesale cars.
You will be responsible for the overall success of our Buy-side dealer acquisition efforts across the USA. Additional responsibilities will include helping with Buy-side account management, market growth, and retention. Your team will be responsible for managing all buy-side acquisition activities and driving new market launches.
A Leader. As the head of New Business Acquisition, you lead and manage a remote team of Field Business Development Representatives within multiple regions across the USA through effective communication and a contagious motivational leadership style.
Data-Driven. Data drives and proves your success. You are responsible for creating, managing, and facilitating bonus plans, OKRs, and KPIs.
Collaborative. Working in tandem with the Marketing and Sell-side team, you and your team will ensure collaboration of activities and campaigns, as well as help to drive interest in Sell-side inventory.
Accountable. Responsible for the top end of the Buy-side funnel, you and your team will ensure a healthy buyer to seller ratio in all markets.
Driven. Aligning with the company's overall goal, you lead yourself and your team diligently and effectively.
Agile. Adaptable to the ever-changing environment of our industry, you navigate change like a pro and can lead a nationwide team through structural and overall business change.
Lead marketplace growth across the territory with clear communication regarding expectations of both individual and team performance.
Conduct regular performance feedback and coaching sessions to develop team sales skills and product expertise.
Handle new market launches including hiring, market analysis, and execution.
Create sales strategies tied to business targets for the market, KAR Global solutions, and new offerings to maintain success and promote continued growth.
Develop go-to-market strategies, sales, and promotions.
5-10 years of proven leadership success, 3-5 of which is leading either outside or inside sales teams, or preferably a mix of both.
College degree or equivalent professional experience.
Proven field sales leadership experience on a national or at minimum a regional scale.
Automotive industry experience, preferably selling SaaS platforms into dealerships.
Ability to analyze data, identify market trends, changes and implications, and develop objectives and strategies to optimize the team’s performance based on that data.
Ability to blend sales acumen, outstanding interpersonal skills, and enthusiasm to stay flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Demonstrable knowledge of CRM tools; Salesforce and Pipedrive strongly preferred.
The ability and willingness to travel 25-30%.
Qualified to operate a motor vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license.
