Farm Credit of New Mexico is seeking an experienced Manager who will provide strategic leadership for the capital markets and participation portfolio segment – Agribusiness.The position title is Vice President of Agribusiness Strategy.


Overall Responsibility


The incumbent will manage all aspects of customer relationship at the strategic level with a focus on increasing the Agribusiness loan portfolio by understanding customer needs, being an active leader at industry events and proactively pursuing opportunities to create new relationships that are aligned with the Associations Business Plan.


Additionally, this position has a lead role in a strategic participation leadership group with specific focus on pursuing new Agribusiness opportunities, overseeing operating procedures and allocating the distribution of the loan structure.The ideal candidate will be a proactive and self-directed leader with the ability to be strategic and analytical. Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and improvement in client experience while mitigating losses and improving internal operational processes is essential.


Key Areas of Responsibilities (Includes but not limited to)


Business Development & Customer Relationship


Conduct market and customer research to identify, evaluate and develop new business opportunities, customer network and business partner relationships

Provide account management and resolve customers inquiries/concerns timely

Works with credit, appraisal and operations counterparts to assess credit risk and service existing credit within authorized limits by gathering industry data and customer financial information

Conduct due diligence checks for new customers and prospective deals

Verify that appropriate pricing, loan terms and profitability requirements are achieved

Assist with processing activities based on customer directives in a timely and accurate manner

Review and recommend updates to the departmental policies and procedures

Coordinate appropriate renewals with lead lenders


Risk & Compliance Management


Coordinates with the VP of Risk Management to ensure completion of counterparty risk assessments

Ensure compliance with all applicable law and regulations (FCA, District Bank, and Association policies and procedures) and report suspicious activities

Understand and comply with Association policies, procedures and regulatory requirements

Monitor industry concentrations and credit quality trending per segment

Assist with audits in providing requested supporting documents


Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent; or seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience;

Seven years of previous experience in agricultural lending and Capital Markets;

Knowledge of agricultural markets and macro-economic trends;

Knowledge of agricultural lending practices and the financial services industry;

Seven years’ experience in relationship management;

Marketing – Knowledge of developing and implementing effective marketing plans.

Regulatory – Functional knowledge of applicable, state, federal, FCA, District Bank and Association regulations, policies and procedures
