U.S. Bank is currently seeking a Vice President of Content & Optimization, who will lead the Content and Search Engine Optimization team within Corporate Marketing. Specifically, this role is accountable for strategy, development, and execution of content and SEO across multiple platforms with the goal of increasing organic traffic. The VP will collaborate with our business lines and several groups throughout the Bank, including product marketing, technology, enterprise analytics, and omnichannel. Additional responsibilities include:

Ensures all content is on-brand and consistent in terms of style, quality, and tone of voice;

Ensures all content is optimized for search and user experience across all channels of content;

Supervises content strategists and authors, ensuring best practices in messaging and style;

Maps out content strategy that supports and extends marketing initiatives;

Continuously evolves and improves content strategy;

Works with content and SEO team members to gauge content effectiveness;

Works with data and analytics teams to make optimization recommendations;

Establishes work flow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content;

Participates in the hiring and supervising of content and SEO team members;

Oversees SEO agencies, including contract negotiations and overall relationship management; and

Evolves scope of SEO services to support all products and business aspects, including branch presence in local search.




Basic Qualifications

10-15 years of experience as a respected leader in multichannel content strategy and search engine optimization

Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, or related marketing field

Fluency in web analytics tools (Adobe Site Cat, Google Analytics) and Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) components and templates, web page creation, and publishing

Experience with creating compelling messages for different target demographics

Managerial experience, including hiring, managing, performance reviews, compensation packages, etc.

Proven editorial skills with an outstanding command of the English language

Excellent leadership and people skills

Leadership skills to define and manage a set of goals involving diverse contributors and content types

Project management skills to manage schedules and deadlines

Familiarity with principles of marketing

Experience working in an Agile environment and a willingness to embrace change

Ability to continually learn the latest platforms, technology tools, and marketing solutions through partnerships

Preferred Skills/Experience

MBA degree attainment

Experience in banking or financial services
