Enterprise Clinical Performance is charged with effectively implementing, monitoring, and executing on programs related to risk adjustment, driving affordability, and clinical quality activities across primarily with Medicare Advantage Membership within in existing care delivery organization for OptumCare a ~$9 billion a organization, touching over 9 million patients, 80 payers, and 22,000 providers. Enterprise Clinical Performance provides support to all markets served by OptumCare. The of Enterprise Clinical Performance CDO Relationships will be responsible for providing strategic direction, development and execution of risk, quality and affordability programs from acquisition to maturity while preserving Care Delivery Organizations (CDO) uniqueness.
The will provide long - term planning and oversight to maintain operations of market relations assuring activities are appropriately integrated into strategic direction, as well as the mission and values of the company. This also involves selection and expansion of best practices while simultaneously striving for standardization and driving performance. This position will report to the Clinical Performance Officer for OptumCare and will be responsible for developing relationships and driving implementation of all Enterprise programs across OptumCare, though an extended hierarchy of 10 individuals expected to grow over time. This position will have a minimum of four direct reports. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S.

Primary Responsibilities: Work in a close collaborative partnership with the local care delivery organizations and Clinical Performance Officer to plan, organize and implement Clinical Performance processes on a national level in new acquisitions, as well as emerging and established markets Encourage building of strong collaborative relationships with executive leadership of each CDO Promote understanding of market trends and customer needs related to risk adjustment, quality and care delivery Develop business and execute on deployment of initiatives Evaluate current delivery framework and make changes where and when appropriate to achieve goals that support quality outcomes for OptumCare members Promote an environment of understanding of the market nuances to drive cross functional team synergy Influence market leadership to be open to new / different methodologies for achieving established goals Ensure compliance with all Optum requirements as well as applicable local, state and federal laws Identify and integrate initiatives that relate to risk adjustment, quality and clinical affordability Lead a team of approximately 10 FTEs with intention to expand over time Drive Key initiatives Risk Adjustment HEDIS / STAR Gaps in Care Care Management Integration Provider engagement and Provider incentives Compliance programs Critical Success Factors: Ability to foster communication and teamwork between CDOs, Clinical Performance departments, other corporate departments, vendors, and senior / executive leadership Nurture existing relationships and structuring new partnerships to help build new products to achieve our mission Work in a matrix environment to drive efficiencies Drive provider engagement through influence, understanding and collaboration Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or administration 10+ progressive management experience working with the highest levels of leadership 10+ ’ experience in leading and managing work teams in a complex or multifunctional / multi - location team / organization 5+ ’ experience working in a care delivery organization / physician group practice 5+ ’ experience in managed care in provider facing roles Working knowledge of Quality, Risk Adjustment and Medical Management.
With deep experience in at least one of the following three areas (STAR, RAF, and UM) 50% travel Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of federal and state laws / regulations relating to Risk Adjustment and Quality Knowledge of fiscal and human capital management techniques Ability to build strong relationships across a variety of stakeholders Well - honed communication skills both written and verbal Proven experience managing organizational growth and change Proficiency with Microsoft Office Careers with Optum.
