This individual will be responsible for development and management of the Sourcing department in order to optimize performance across supply chain. This role will lead the standardization and transformation of sourcing on global scale by establishing a clear vendor path for growth and innovation, cost savings, spend analysis, contract reviews, pricing, tooling, supplier management and packaging.


 


This role is the owner of the Departmental Budget and responsible for development, approval and oversight throughout the year. Work with regional leadership to implement short and long-term solutions that deliver significant cost advantages while maintaining performance excellence.


What you will do (Essential Functions)





    • Oversee departmental annual budgets based on the forecasting by the Company. Work with the management team to create short-term and long-term labor needs based on sales forecasts and direction from leadership and other stakeholders within the business.

    • Project and time management: Plan tasks and deliverables accurately, prioritize tasks and adapt as needed based upon changing priorities. Responsive to requests, accountable for actions

    • Problem-solving: Prevent and solve issues, understand and mitigate problems, recognize cause and effect relationships between functions

    • Cross-functional collaboration and communication

    • Developing Staff (increasing competence and engagement)

    • Customer focus: Understand and monitor the needs of internal and external customers of the Procurement functions

    • Create a vision for and execution of Strategic Sourcing 

    • Plan and direct all investigations and negotiations related to joint ventures, acquisition of business

    • Due diligence on new retcons, supplier exclusivity and new business opportunities

    • Position the Company as the market leader through collaboration with customers, suppliers, sales and other internal stakeholders

    • Develop and execute best practices including direct pricing, define lead times, vendor production capacity, vendor agreements, consolidation & SLAs, supplier performance management, tooling, packaging, commodity planning, New Product Introduction (NPI) and Custom products to fulfill end-to-end global demand

    • Engage suppliers and collaborate with Engineering to drive supplier innovation and design for manufacturability. Tap into the capabilities and knowledge from the supplier community to facilitate externally sourced innovation

    • Collaborate with Finance leadership to validate the financial impact of custom projects, landed cost estimates and analysis and contract negotiations to the general ledger

    • Identify emerging trends and requirements for all future product needs to assure a world-class supplier base

    • Implement standard processes, category management, engage low cost country suppliers, risk mitigation, supplier relationship management

    • Ability to manage large, complex projects and break them down and execute into manageable pieces, develop functional processes, and deliver them in a successful and timely manner

    • Prepare, present, and influence senior leaders on current and future sourcing imperatives




Who you are (Qualifications)





    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate well with all levels of the organization – English and Chinese/Mandarin are required

    •  15+ years of relevant work experience in supply chain & procurement, sourcing in Asia for the Cosmetics Industry

    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

    • Proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people & functions

    •  Confidence, presence, and credibility to command the respect of colleagues and senior stakeholders, especially within Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Services, Logistics, and Finance

    • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs

    • Adaptable / Flexible - being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances




Knowledge of





    • Methods and tools to improve performance and productivity such as 6 Sigma, Lean (Kaizens, Workouts, Process mapping), Quality Control, Vendor Management Inventory

    • Team value and how to successfully motivate and maintain employee involvement while driving change

    • Organizational skills, with ability to manage competing and dynamic priorities

    • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and MS-Project skills




Physical standards





    • This position requires frequent sitting, standing, reaching, walking, and handling/grasping of materials in manufacturing and operating a computer workstation

    • Must have finger dexterity, ability to use keyboard/ten key

    • Able to periodically participate in the inspection of company machinery and operations

    • Reach, stoop and lift office files, records or reports, typically weighing 20 pounds or less
