Our client, a well-funded and quickly-growing fintech startup which focuses on digitally enabling transactions of private securities of various types, is seeking a Vice President of Marketing to build and lead their marketing strategy and department.The immediate priority for this role will be performance/acquisition marketing with brand/content and product marketing on the near horizon, and this person will step into the role with one direct report and multiple agency relationships in place.Both headcount and agency scope are budgeted for expansion under this role, and experience managing agency relationships as well as growing teams in early-growth-stage startups are requirements for this position.Ideal candidates must have marketing experience in the financial realm, either through fintech or a traditional finance/banking organization.

Responsibilities:

Continue to build and maintain the client's brand voice, tone, and direction

Build, lead and mentor a team of marketers across demand gen, content marketing, product marketing, field marketing, and marketing operations in a fast-paced start-up

Collaborate with design, product, engineering, and business leaders to inform the larger marketing strategy based on private market trends and industry landscape

Leverage existing and new marketing technologies to evolve and innovate marketing strategies and tactics, improve efficiency and increase results

Partner with client-facing teams to ensure marketing strategy is aligned with other acquisition and retention initiatives

Ownership of the full customer journey through all marketing touchpoints

Ownership of the client’s strategic messaging

Manage agency partners, vendors, and the marketing budget

Requirements

10+ years of experience in marketing leadership roles, including experience scaling a team through high growth at a top tech company (B2B and/or B2C FinTech experience preferred)

Highly strategic and able to balance long term strategy with short term results

Experience developing and executing marketing plans (growth, digital, offline, events, email, etc.) with measurable impact

Data-driven, comfortable with complex reporting and measuring goals with data

Experience driving demand and revenue with data, and successfully scaling a company in a high growth stage

Proven record of building and owning a lead and/or revenue commit

Expertise with a modern MarTech Stack

Experienced in building and owning a marketing budget

Excellent project management experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you’re an expert storyteller

Preferred experience marketing in heavily regulated industries like financial services

Location Flexible but must be willing to work onsite in the client's New York or San Francisco, CA office post-COVID restrictions
