The Vice President of Tax will set the vision for the Company’s tax strategy, effectively communicate tax objectives to company leadership and provide leadership and oversight to Mimecast’s tax team.
Responsibilities include evaluating Mimecast’s operating structure and designing and implementing a tax strategy to minimize the Company’s effective tax rate.The VP of tax will also work to ensure alignment of external and internal tax resources with business requirements, play a key role planning for and integrating acquisitions, and provide oversight of the Company’s tax provision, financial statement reporting and disclosures and related compliance efforts. Reporting to the SVP of Finance – Controller and working closely with the CFO, this role with work alongside other senior leaders within finance and the business in carrying out these responsibilities.
Set strategic vision for Company’s tax structure with goal of minimizing the consolidated tax rate and cash-tax costs of the global business.
Play a key role planning for and integrating acquisitions.
Optimize the corporate structure to align with and support the business operations.
Effectively communicate tax objectives and strategies to company leadership.
Ensure alignment of external and internal tax resources to support business requirements.
Develop and manage the global transfer pricing program including regular monitoring.
Guide strategies to minimize tax risk and costs relating to the company’s entry into new geographic markets
Manage all tax related strategies for Treasury.
Provide oversight of the Company’s tax provision, financial statement reporting and related disclosures.
Oversee tax compliance working with 3rd party service providers and the finance team.
Manage and provide oversight of tax matters including audits.
Provide technical advice related to income and non-income tax issues as requested.
Develop and implement tax policies.
Provide career development opportunities and succession planning of tax team.
15+ years’ experience in a combination of a large corporation or accounting firm
10+ years’ experience in international tax planning
Comprehensive knowledge of US, UK, and other international corporate tax requirements
Extensive tax accounting and general corporate accounting expertise.
Demonstrates executive presence and intellectual capability.
Leadership skills, business acumen and strategic agility.
Ability to work and communicate with operational and corporate finance personnel and influence decision-making at all levels of management.
Experience working with auditors
Experience leading a team, including direct supervision and mentoring
BA/BA in accounting or related field
JD/MBA/CPA, a plus.
