Independent Bank provides big bank services, small town attitudes, and the support of a trusted banking partner. Independent Bank currently has a VP Operations-Systems Manager position open in Ionia, MI. In this position you will have oversight of the IT Operations, which includes Service Delivery, Data Center Technologies and Network Infrastructure, be responsible for the day to day management and administration of all enterprise operations systems as well as supervision and allocation of operations personnel, be responsible for managing the partner relationship(s) with our Managed Services providers and ensuring proper support is being provided within the SLAs defined by the agreements. as well as play a key role in IT transformation projects and initiatives.


Responsibilities:


Provide leadership and supervision of the Operations Support Team ensuring appropriate skilled resources are in place to meet required and expected service levels;

Manage staff by recruiting, training and mentoring employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance;

Work with auditors and security groups to ensure adherence to governance, regulations, and compliance with policies and procedures;

Direct involvement in incidents or problems that cause service impact and act as the ultimate escalation point for incidents not being resolved in the expected time frame;

Works with the IT Management to establish standards and best practices for managing internal and hosted infrastructure, including network, access rights, server, etc.;

Responsible for the overall system and infrastructure operational availability, providing monthly reporting to the Director of Infrastructure on 'up-time' and service impacting incidents;

Responsible for day-to-day system administration, including management of internal network, Remote Access, Microsoft Active Directory (AD) / Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online and Disaster Recovery;

Develop, document and oversee compliance of IT Operations "Playbook" of all operationally repeatable tasks;

Develop and maintain standard life cycle of all infrastructure hardware consistent with industry best practices;

Oversee the monitoring and management of the IaaS environment, including the monthly maintenance schedule, patch management and security updates of all systems;

Plan, design and develop a robust disaster recovery strategy;

Management of data center security, including the monthly patching and updating of servers, database security, server hardening and disaster recovery solutions;

Manages change management processes associated with upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting or installation of new business applications. Includes coordinating with business unit, impacted clients; works with Project Management group in documenting objectives/scope, plan/tasks, timelines and final outcome;

Maintains formal service reviews with key customer stakeholders to ensure the highest level of satisfaction;

Participates in budgeting process to ensure service agreements, equipment contracts are budgeted for renewals;

Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures;

Provides technical direction and supervision to analyst staff in the development and implementation of systems or in problem solving;

Acts as the vendor manager with vendors to resolve and correct enterprise problems;

Validates SLA commitments provided by vendors to ensure service levels meet requirements;

Ensures all documentation is accurate, up to date and reviewed by IT staff along with creating new procedures to be reviewed;

Develops proactive procedures to monitor the performance and capacity issues associated with network infrastructure; gathers statistics and all necessary information to support recommendations for enhancements, expansions or alterations of infrastructure;

Works in tandem with IT management team to manage and support internal and externally initiated projects and service tickets. Looks for ways to improve efficiency and/or quality of service and presents them to IT management for discussion;

Qualifications:

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred

3 years: Experience supporting IT infrastructure and service delivery in a medium - large sized organization

5 years: Experience in supervision of technical team

Understanding of cloud and mobile technology

Good understanding of messaging (MS Exchange, Archiving, Unified Communications), networking technologies and concepts, VMWare/Hyper V, IT security and data protection, server and desktop hardware/operating systems, networks, firewalls and load balancers, telecoms, and virtualization

In depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory (Design, Security and Administration)

Ability to lead a team through successful completion of projects

Strong analytical, technical, interpersonal and communication skills
