The Vice President of Operations is responsible for the general management of production resources to successfully execute client engagements: focusing on delivery of high quality results, improved processes, production optimization and handling ongoing deal support for active engagements.They will serve as the primary contact for identifying and implementing opportunities to improve operational performance. The Vice President of Operations will partner with sales, client service, and solution development leadership to drive performance, revenue growth and enterprise value maximization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned.


Responsible for the overall management of all due diligence services engagements in accordance with contract terms to achieve customer satisfaction.

Works with human resources to develop recruiting, training and staffing functions to support the business needs.

Reviews and improves processes to make all operations more productive and profitable.

Creates processes and tools to create resource capacity plans. Processes should provide operation teams with the visibility needed to plan future business needs.

Assists in developing strategic direction.

Troubleshoots client issues and complaints.

Grows business portfolio using various methods and business delivery channels.

Maintains high level of confidentiality to protect privacy rights.

Recognizes and implements operational improvements.

Establishes internal controls to reduce errors and customer complaints.

Develops and maintains department policies and procedures.

Provides coaching, training and development to staff to ensure company and department goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.

Measures and documents staff performance, attendance and compliance with job duties, expectations, regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures.

Prepares and provides monthly reports to senior management.

Minimum 10 years’ experience in residential mortgage loan underwriting, including closed loan due diligence services.

Detailed understanding of credit, compliance, valuation and fraud risk with respect to residential mortgage loans.

Familiarity with the requirements of the ratings agencies and regulatory bodies with respect to a third party review (TPR) services provider.

Analytic creativity, negotiation and problem solving skills, using a wide range of information and perspective to identify current conditions and needs.

Solid understanding of buying and selling process for mortgage portfolios.

In depth knowledge of mortgage underwriting and due diligence.

Excellent client relationship management skills.

Ability to be self-sufficient.

Strong leadership skills with the ability and experience to manage people.

Ability to work well under pressure, handle competing priorities and meet deadlines.

A high level of confidentiality to protect privacy rights.

Effectiveness as a team player.

Ability to easily prioritize job duties according to the needs of the company.

Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A) or higher from an accredited four-year college or university preferred. Ten years or more relevant experience and/or training required. Experience in working with large companies involved in the mortgage chain. Mortgage operations experience (servicing, due diligence and origination). Must have understanding of the capital markets, particularly Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS) and Asset Backed Securities (ABS). Knowledge of legal and regulatory compliance rules and regulations. At least five years' experience in supervisory or manager role required.


Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of their department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Travel: Some travel may be required.
