Operations; including but not limited to the following duties:
Select trade subcontractors and co-ordinate their activities
Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements
Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates
Plan and manage budgets
Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress
Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control
Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions
Develop and implement quality control programs
Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations
Estimating; including but not limited to the following duties:
Prepare quantity take-offs using computer software
Estimate and coordinate change orders and site instructions.
Prepare tender documents for potential jobs, review specifications and drawings to identify scope.
Review tender invitations
Provide value engineering insight
Consult with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and site super intendants
Comprehensive bid preparation, submittal, award and follow up
Responsible for clear communication to project managers and senior estimators.
Provide budgeting, scheduling, and assist with project management including pre-construction administration and job costing.
Review contracts for accuracy
The Ideal Candidate:
Ability to read and understand construction drawings
Strong computer skills including but not limited to estimating software and Microsoft Office, Plexxis, and Plan Swift.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Post-secondary education in a related field
Must have strong estimating skills
