The Vice President of Operations is responsible for leading, developing and executing the global manufacturing, continuous improvement, and supply chain strategy for the company.  Provides leadership and direction to achieve best in class safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.Contributes to M&A growth strategy, leads due diligence and operations integration to deliver growth and performance objectives.This role is a direct report to the PSG President with a small group of specialists in manufacturing, supply chain, and continuous improvement.All PSG site manufacturing and supply chain leaders are dotted line reports into this role.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Provides vision and leadership to PSG operations organizations. Responsible for ensuring that products are manufactured safely, maintaining the highest quality standards and on time delivery while insuring continuous cost improvement.

Develops, manages and ensures the execution of strategic goals and plans to ensure global manufacturing excellence.

Drives leading edge lean operations, processes and technologies to improve safety, quality, delivery, and reduce costs.

Leads global operational efficiencies, inventory efficiencies and economies of scale.

Strategically partners with internal and external customers and contributes to sharing and implementing best practices with other operating companies.

Strategically partners with the PSG executive leadership team in developing and executing the PSG business strategy.

Ensures the integration and implementation of pro-active safe work environments.

Drives a Continuous Improvement culture within site operations

Promotes and maintains awareness and compliance of QHSE in accordance with best practices and legal requirements, he/she is the legal relay of the company president.

Constantly analyses production processes within the business and looks to outsourceprocesses and products where/when appropriate

Productivity


Provide leadership to the organization’s management team while fostering a culture of high-performance, accountability, professional development, and ethical behavior

Attract, train and develop a world-class team focused on meeting the customer objectives.

Assist in due diligence for potential acquisitions

Perform other duties as required to achieve departmental and product line objectives.


Qualifications/Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree level in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering and/or have a relevant professional institute qualification.  MBA preferred, but not required.

Ten plus years of progressive strategic leadership within a multi-location global manufacturing and supply chain organization.

Possess a broad background in mechanical engineering / manufacturing with a wide range of knowledge on manufacturing and production processes (casting, fabricated steel, machining, and assembly).

Experience in offshoring / outsourcing

Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, TOC.

Proven expertise in driving lean implementation to improve cost, quality, delivery and safety.

CPIM/CPM/CIRM certification(s)

Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style

Ability to travel up to 30% of time
