Position Purpose:



  • The VP of Product, Strategy, & Innovation defines Stericycle’s overall product strategy and executes upon opportunities/programs to grow and differentiate Stericycle’s portfolio.This role is responsible for driving overall business strategy including M&A, new product development, competitive intelligence, etc., with the assistance of SVP Commercial Strategy and EVP/Chief Commercial Officer.

  • This leader leverages market insights, leads product discovery, creates/quantifies product value propositions, and manages lifecycle planning (features, enhancements, etc.) for new innovations and existing products by engaging with a cross-functional team and external stakeholders to understand customer needs, assess organizational readiness, create/present business cares, foster partnerships, and execute on value-added products/enhancements.

  • This role is expected to have a ‘general manager’ mindset as a critical focal point of activity across commercial, operations, and other support functions (regulatory, finance, IT, legal, etc.). This leader will have a team of marketing professionals aligned to products across all of Stericycle’s businesses and will frequently interact with go-to-market, revenue management, and brand teams within marketing to ensure value propositions and pricing are optimized.

  • Finally, this leader will be responsible for driving long range planning activities and share accountability for reaching annual financial objectives, with a focus on revenue and gross margin of new/existing service lines.

  • This position will require flexibility to work a hybrid/remote schedule. May work from our Bannockburn, IL or downtown Chicago, IL office!


Key Job Activities:



  • Develops product strategy/lifecycle management to support current and new products, features, enhancements, processes, and programming targeted to achieve maximum ROI, durability, targeted profitable revenue growth, share position, customer satisfaction, and retention.

  • Prioritizes projects and execution based on available resources; Assesses/monitors impact on KPI’s and alignment with overall business strategy. Ensures cross-functional readiness for launches/enhancements in close partnership with go-to-market and operational teams.

  • Monitors, analyzes, and leverages market research, industry trends, customer insights, regulatory developments, and competitive intelligence to identify the most effective product value propositions, architect a product strategy roadmap, drive decision making, develop appropriate product metrics and goals, and create sustained competitive advantage.

  • Develops, aligns, and presents business cases that support new products and enhancement opportunities.Gains a deep understanding of customer needs as compared to organizational competency, capacity, and readiness.

  • Drives long range planning across the business, collaborating with sales, sales operations, regulatory, and operations leaders. Layers in innovation/NPD opportunities. Develops and monitors the M&A landscape for opportunities in the core or near-adjacent markets.

  • Acts as a “General Manager” and “Product Champion”, building internal and external awareness, understanding, and support for Stericycle’s portfolio.

Experience:


•Bachelor’s Degree equivalent to a Master’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field, preferably from a top tier institution.


•Ten or more years of marketing, strategy, or other relevant business experience with a focus on product management and strategy.


•Five or more years hiring, growing, nurturing, guiding and managing a team of high-performing individuals in a professional environment.


•Proven experience in ROI driven product management practices.
