Generate strategic media initiatives and lead all aspects of media planning for clients or products.


Responsible for developing, implementing and executing strategy to define the future direction of account

Resource for others in defining high level strategy for subsidiaries/business unit

Responsible for designing and managing projects and resources for subsidiaries/business unit

Oversee local media plan development and take strategic lead on plans for specified group/account

Team leader for client interaction fostering positive relationships

Identifies key target insights based on client brief necessary for formulating communication strategy

Evaluates composition of a wide range of media vehicles to determine which would most effectively reach the target audience 

Effectively communicates and solicits agreement of best opportunities for clients

Supervising, training and developing staff (managing workload, delegating responsibilities and checking work for accuracy, performance management)

Providing staffing recommendation and daily supervision to all accounts

Directs the long range planning and development of programs to ensure best use of organizational resources

Serves as leadership and content development coordinator for all client presentations

Participates in new business efforts including development of new business opportunities and new business pitches

Responsible for long range strategic vision for industry and how it applies to clients’ needs

Ability to cross sell interagency products and services

Participation in special projects involving cross department team development and leadership 

Work with the Consumer Insights and research teams to identify and deliver key learning opportunities for client

Serves as key Resource for others in defining high level strategy for subsidiaries/business unit


Number of Direct Reports: up to 10

Communicates With: 

Internal: Partners with other Strategy members, Strategic Resources, Activation Partners, Finance and Human Resources 

External: Significant Client and Vendor interaction and accountability

Budgetary Responsibilities:

Responsible for budgeting, controlling costs, planning and scheduling around cost concerns for business unit


Bachelors Degree 10+ years media planning experience 

Progressively responsible experience in people management and leadership

Business Competencies: 

Fluency with Media Tools and solid understanding of Digital Planning tools

Work with internal research team to develop learning plans for client

Develop, implement and execute strategy to define future direction business unit 

Guide others in defining high level strategy for business unit

Plan, conduct, assign and meet obligations for business unit

Design and manage projects, resources, stakeholders, participants and deadlines for business unit

Develop and learn advanced skills in area of specialization

Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring of employees within business unit

Manage a budget, control costs, plan and schedule around cost concerns for business unit

Manage multiple segments and functional areas for business unit

Able to direct long range planning and the development of programs to maximize organizational resources

Proven experience and success in presenting plans to client and influencing top level client decisions related to local media strategy and implementation
