Our well-established and highly respected aerospace manufacturer company is seeking a solid hands on Director of Finance / Controller professional to the team who is analytical, technical and enjoys the cyclical accounting process . This role will report to the CFO out of state.

Position Director of Finance / Controller

Responsibilities:

Finance and Accounting

Requirements:

Experience with more than 1 ERP Accounting System - Preferably 1 full implementation if less experience.

Manufacturing Operation background.

History of Cost Accounting role at some point in career

Demonstrate COGS Section of Income Statement (Over/Under Absorption)

Transactions other than COS – Slow Inventory, Forward Loss Analysis, Lower of Cost or Market

Understanding of MRP from a scheduling / GL effect to Transaction stream

Understanding of more than 1 costing method

Auditing Experience is a plus

Clear philosophy about inventory and job costing

• Focus on Keeping Stockrooms 100% accurate / Test Transaction streams for Costing Accuracy

• Focus on Accuracy of Transaction stream for Job Costing and emphasize process accuracy /

Cycle Counts for Stockroom accuracy

History working in Multi-company / Matrix Supervision with dotted lines

Treasury Background

Importance of Cash Flow - Solutions of A/R collections & Inventory reduction schemes

Budget Preparation

Capital Investment Analysis

Continuous Improvement methods

Process Mapping

Leadership:

Demonstrated supervisory experience

Management / Project management skills. Demonstrated background of meeting deadlines, Process Mapping

Personal Characteristics:

Ability to operate as a "KEY" member of a diversified Management Team

Chief Advisor to company President on 0perational and Financial issues.

Problem Solver not a Score Keeper approach

View of Role as Service Position first

Model personal obligation of Fiduciary duty to protect stockholder's investment

Obligation of subordinate development (nurturing)

Ownership of every problem detected & obligation to offer solutions

Cop when necessary - no fear to act

Full Disclosure at earliest possible point

Other requirements:

5 Years plus in Accounting Leadership Role (Controller or above)

Job Costing - Aerospace Background should receive preference

Manufacturing as emphasis in job history - Multiple Industry exposure a plus

CPA preferred, MBA is a plus

College Grade Point average of no less than 3.0+

Willingness to travel
