• Building trusted relationships through engagement, effective communication and actions.

• Manage clients from a strategic perspective, demonstrating proactivity, ensuring that the Company’s stated levels of service are met and maintained

• Work with and provide support to the Account Management staff as necessary, and maintain close ongoing liaison with clients and advisers on more complex matters (including regular meetings)

• Communicate well, both internally and externally – ensure response times to clients are appropriate and internal CRM system is updated on a timely manner

• Be an advocate of Northern Trust, ensuring that clients, advisors and prospects know about our business developments, themes we are seeing and solutions we can provide

• Where required, discharge fiduciary duties in line with procedures, the relevant documentation and document decision making thoroughly and timely

• Monitor and distribute all incoming correspondence, and ensure that timely and appropriate action is taken

• Review and authorise (where appropriate) transactions and documentation

• Undertake annual client review of your client relationship and use this also as an opportunity to ensure your family structure and assets are correct and accurate

• Proactively raise any client concerns or challenges and using Northern Trust’s global network of experts, assist the client in finding a good and workable solution

• Seek out and support new business opportunities 

• Review and consider client profitability and identify/address where fee levels are inappropriate


• Plan and run the relationship review and ongoing meetings as needed

• Ensure clients are told of the “value add” Northern Trust brings to them 

• Prepare call reports within 48 hours of the meeting

• Drive follow up items from any client meetings and interactions

• Follow up with internal parties on any queries/issues which arise from meetings within 24 hours.


• Maintain all documentation/files as appropriate to each client relationship. 

• Client reviews accurate and completed on time 

The successful candidate will benefit from having: 

• A strong background with a good understanding of the global custody industry

• Direct experience in interacting with demanding clients or prospects and meeting their needs

• Excellent organizational skills and comfort in prioritizing competing demands 

• Ability to perform under pressure and to be flexible with working when required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Self- motivated
