However, many organizations are still struggling to make the transition to delivering greater social impact for stakeholders. Social enterprises are companies that use their commercial activities to create social impact in a financially sustainable manner.

About the Presenter

Christian Hampel is an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship and Strategy at Imperial College Business School and an Associate Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Social Innovation. 

Christian’s research focuses on mission-driven companies – particularly new ventures – and on social evaluations. Being passionate about social entrepreneurship, he has studied many social enterprises over the years and interviewed dozens of founders of social enterprises in the process. His teaching focuses on entrepreneurship and social innovation for master’s and MBA audiences.

Before academia, Christian worked in strategy consulting.
