About the class

How should firms measure their return on investment from employee learning and development activity?  If employees are better trained, more highly motivated, and more loyal, what is the impact on business growth and success?  Tim Munyon, Associate Professor of Management and the Joan Mynatt Research Fellow at the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will provide an overview of why firms invest in learning and development for employees and how they might better track ROI and other benefits for the business. 

About the Presenter

Timothy P. Munyon (Ph.D., Florida State University) is an Associate Professor of Management and the Ray and Joan Myatt Research Fellow at the Haslam College of Business, University of Tennessee. He is also a co-founder and current managing director at Red Castle Human Capital, a workforce analytics and consulting company.

Munyon researches human capital, with an emphasis on improving performance, motivation, and retention. He also serves as a core faculty member in the Aerospace & Defense MBA program, Master of Science in Management and Human Resources program, and the Professional MBA program at the Haslam College. He was awarded the “Outstanding Aerospace & Defense Faculty Award” for teaching contributions in 2018, “Outstanding Venture Capitalist Award” from the Professional MBA program in 2018, “Outstanding HRM Faculty Award” for teaching contributions in 2016, and twice has been a finalist for competitive campus teaching awards.

Finally, Munyon is an active speaker, including keynote addresses at the 2019 Learning and Development Executive Summit (USA) and 2018 ENEGEP meeting (Brazil).
