Launch Your Organization's Thought Leadership Strategy

January 11, 2022

Launch Your Organization's Thought Leadership Strategy

Thought leadership isn't only for individuals, more and more organizations are identifying it as a viable strategy for providing a sustainable competitive advantage. Over the past few years, organizations of all sizes have made considerable investments in thought leadership--Fortune 500s, VC-backed startups, and firms wanting to "punch above their weight." Organizations and executives use thought leadership to create demand, build their brand, engage buyers, influence media and policy, and even impact exit or IPO valuation.

In this session, Peter Winick and Bill Sherman of Thought Leadership Leverage will discuss how you can use thought leadership to help your organization reach its goals. You'll learn:

- How organizations are using thought leadership today
- What it takes to launch thought leadership within an organization
- How to make thought leadership sustainable

About Presenter:

Peter Winick is the founder and CEO of Thought Leadership Leverage. For the past two decades he has helped individuals and organizations build and grow revenue streams through designing and growing their thought leadership platforms as well as acting as a guide and advisor for increasing business to business sales of thought leadership products.

His clients come from a diverse set of backgrounds and specialties. They include New York Times bestselling business book authors, members of the Speakers’ Hall of Fame, recipients of the Thinkers50 award, CEOs of public and privately held companies, and academics at prestigious institutions such as Yale, Wharton, Dartmouth, and London School of Business.

Peter has built his career and Thought Leadership Leverage to serve the needs of these individuals and others like them. Specifically he uses his entrepreneurial experience and spirit along with a passion for using relationships to leverage growth. Peter uses a combination of art, science, logic, focus, passion, and creativity to transform a thought leader’s great ideas into a platform and practice so they can effectively reach business leaders and executives to serve them the tools they and their organizations need.

Bill Sherman is the COO of Thought Leadership Leverage and its Practice Lead. He is a seasoned B2B thought leadership strategist who knows how to take good ideas to scale.

His work sits at the intersection of strategy, communications, research, and demand-generation marketing. Bill helps clients deploy powerful ideas that get people to think and act differently.

Enterprise-level thought leadership is a formal function. It requires the creation, curation, and deployment of ideas to the right audiences. So, Bill’s strategic expertise includes:

  • Designing multi-year thought leadership strategies at the enterprise and individual expert level;
  • Defining specific target thought leadership audiences—VIP individuals and groups who need to hear and embrace these ideas;
  • Advising on thought leadership outreach campaigns; and
  • Creating dashboards and metrics to measure the outcomes.

His clients include high-growth startups, Fortune 500 and Global 1000 organizations, and purpose-driven global non-profits.

Very few people go to school to become a thought leadership strategist and practice lead. Bill initially stumbled into this role back in 2003—when a C-level exec at a F500 company asked him "how can I take the ideas in the book to scale?" Bill quickly discovered that he loved the worlds of independent and organizational thought leadership.

Bill also is the co-host of the podcast “Leveraging Thought Leadership" where he interviews senior enterprise leaders, Heads of Thought Leadership, and other practitioners.
