Watch this virtual fireside chat, Ronald Guymon, Senior Lecturer of Accountancy and RC Evans Data Analytics Scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Michael Elniski, Area Business Director at Itamar Medical,  as they discuss the importance of telling stories in tandem with presenting data. They will share experiences, principles, and tips for using data to motivate improvement.

About the Presenter

Ronald Guymon

Senior Lecturer of Accountancy and RC Evans Data Analytics Scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Ron Guymon joined Gies in 2018, and is a senior lecturer at Gies College of Business where he focuses on teaching data analytics courses using Excel, Python, and R. Ron has worked as a data scientist for Numetric, a business intelligence company, and as the chief data officer for Gigg, a social media influencing company. He continues to work on creating data analytic solutions for instructors. He focuses on communicating those solutions using interactive visualizations and dashboards. Ron earned a bachelors and master's in accounting from Brigham Young University, and a PhD in accounting from The University of Iowa.

Michael Elniski

Area Business Director at Itamar Medical

Michel Elniski is a commercial leader with +20 years of experience leading commercial teams in the medical device industry. He has held several commercial leadership roles and has worked across the company spectrum, from VC-based startups to global multinationals.  During his career, Michael has won several awards for sales achievement, cross-functional leadership, and innovation.  In 2016, he received lifetime achievement awards at Edwards Lifesciences and served on the company wide senior leadership team.  Michael is known for his ability to organize chaos into a coherent commercial strategy and lead the execution through a hands-on approach.  He is currently working full time and is a student in the iMBA program at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign
