Marcia is the co-founder of the executive search firm Ballinger|Leafblad and has spent over 25 years in the executive recruiting industry.  She will share the most common mistakes that people make when networking and will give you tips so that your networking always pays off.  She will also address the most important reasons to network and provide a framework for a concise, efficient, and highly productive networking model that gets results.

About the Presenter

Marcia Ballinger is Co-Founder and Principal at Ballinger|Leafblad, St Paul-based executive search firm focused on serving the civic sector.  She conducts executive search projects recruiting top executives for non-profit organizations, higher education, foundations and professional associations. She also has extensive prior background in corporate search.  A frequent presenter to groups of executives, Marcia is known as a no-nonsense representative of the executive search industry. 

Marcia has a BS in Business Administration and an MA in Speech-Communication along with a PhD in Organization and Management from Capella University where she later served as chair of the board of directors.  She is currently a board member of two people-oriented companies- (HRConnection and Employee Strategies, Inc.) as well as Children’s Home Society and Interfaith Action of Greater Saint Paul.  She previously served on the boards of the American Red Cross-Twin Cities, where she chaired the Strategic Planning Task Force and Milkweed Editions, where she chaired the Human Resources Committee.

Marcia was named one of the Real Power 50 by Minnesota Business in 2014, a Top Woman in Business by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal in 2008 and a Luminary Award Winner by the National Association of Women Business Owners in 2006.  She was recognized in the inaugural group of 50 Over 50 named by AARP in 2016.  She is currently serving as a judge for this award.
