Senior Manager Of Market ResearchCambridge, MA
Reporting to the Senior Director of Commercial Operations, the Senior Manager of Market Research is responsible for overseeing all market research for the commercial organization. In this position, the Senior Manager of Market Research will be a trusted advisor to the commercial brand team leadership, leveraging superior customer and marketplace understanding to formulate and execute research programs that deliver insights which highlight business opportunities and guide strategy. This position requires proficiency in study design and interpretation as well as broad understanding of qualitative and quantitative market research. Work will support in-line, pre-launch and business development initiatives. The incumbent will need to collaborate across Marketing, Sales, Managed-Care, Finance, Legal, HR, Regulatory, Medical and Operations in support of a “high-touch” customer philosophy.
Manage process for primary and secondary market research projects, including Market Size Assessments, Segmentation Analysis, Situational Analysis, Awareness Trial and Usage (ATU) Studies, etc...
Oversee market research projects including physician and patient tracking studies, and message recall tracking. The incumbent will need to determine the appropriate methodology, manage survey instrument development, oversee the fielding process, analyze results and develop actionable recommendations.
Work with commercial leadership to quantify the business impact of findings in support of the forecasting process.
Analyze and triangulate market research results against secondary data including field activity, customer care, earning call announcements, competitive intelligence findings in support of monthly commercial team business update process
Ensure all marketing research activities are conducted in accordance with financial and ethical compliance guidelines
Sourcing and management of external vendors
Create and actively manage a market research calendar to ensure proper planning and timing of key events throughout the year
Manage the annual market research budget and conduct budget forecasting.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
At least 7-10 years pharmaceutical industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a market research capacity (Cardiovascular a plus)
Strong PC skills (including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc…)
US and International experience and demonstrated ability to effectively work across cultures highly preferred.
Experience in marketing or sales operations is desirable.
Demonstrated success in managing numerous projects simultaneously
Thorough understanding of specialty pharmacy and orphan drug payer coverage challenges
Strong interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills required
Requires approximately 15% travel
